CTU offers accredited bachelor, master and PhD study programmes. Study plans of all the study programmes can be found here.

Information about the availability of study programmes according to § 21 Act no. 111/1998 Coll., on universities and on amendments and supplements to other acts (the Universities Act), as amended, valid from 1. 9. 2016.

Bachelor study programmes

  • the standard length of a bachelor study programme is 3 or 4 years, which can be taken by full-time or part-time study
  • this is the short form of university studies
  • graduates of a bachelor study programme are awarded a bachelor degree and receive the bachelor title. At the Faculty of Architecture, graduates of the study programme in Design are awarded a bachelor of arts degree and the title "bakalář umění".
  • Bachelor graduates have the required theoretical knowledge and practical skills to perform technical functions in industry, institutions, schools, commerce and services. They are also well prepared for further studies.

Master study programmes

  • master study programmes are open to bachelor graduates; the standard length of a master study programme is 1.5 or 2 or 3 years.
  • master study programmes can be studied by full-time or part-time study.
  • in specialized study programmes, there is an increasing number of required optional courses and free optional courses.
  • graduates are awarded the title Ing. (i.e. engineer), and a master’s degree. At the Faculty of Architecture and at the Faculty of Civil Engineering (study programme in Architecture and Building Engineering) the title awarded is Ing. Arch.

Doctoral study programmes

  • The standard length of a PhD study programme is 3 or 4 years. These programmes are open to graduates of a master programme.
  • Doctoral studies are a higher and more demanding form of education.
  • Students are educated to solve the most complicated problems in applied science.
  • Every doctoral student is required to demonstrate his/her ability to produce independent creative scientific work by passing some examinations and presenting a dissertation.
  • Graduates are awarded the academic title doctor (Ph.D.) All doctoral study programmes at CTU are also accredited and offered in English language.
