You are here

CTU in Prague offers doctoral study programmes delivered in Czech language, and also the opportunity to study in English language.

Doctoral study programmes at CTU, which follow on from master studies, offer a higher and more demanding form of education. For studies of this kind, an individual approach to each student is typical, aimed at developing his/her scientific activities. The aim of the studies is to prepare the student for his/her further scientific career, or for highly-qualified work in a whole range of other professions. The whole study programme is organized in close collaboration with a supervisor and under the supervision of a board of specialists.

The standard length of the studies is 3 or 4 years. The studies are completed by the state doctoral examination and by the presentation and defence of a doctoral dissertation, by which the doctoral student demonstrates his/her skills and ability to carry through independent creative scientific work. A graduate of a doctoral study programme is awarded the academic title of "doctor" and a Ph.D. degree.

Every doctoral study programme is accredited with the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports, and is in accordance with the European education requirements based on the Bologna process.
