Centre of Competence for Rail Vehicles

The Centre of Competence for Rail Vehicles is a project aimed at coordinating and deepening existing collaboration among production companies and research institutions. The Centre carries out applied R&D. The results achieved  through the Centre’s work will  gradually be implemented into final products, and within four to six years from the beginning of the project they will significantly strengthen the competitiveness of the Czech Republic in transport engineering.

Centre of Research and Experimental Development of Reliable Energy Production

Project period: 2012 – 2019

This project will raise the efficiency, increase the lifetime, and  lead to more reliable functioning, greater safety and efficiency of the power supply equipment for classical and nuclear power plants. R&D on new technologies and materials will make producers and operators of power supply equipment more competitive. A further aim of the project is to contribute to the education of a new generation of technical experts and theoreticians, and to make good the loss of know-how in the field of energetics and power engineering.

Centre for the Development of Transport Systems

The Centre for the Development of Transport Systems establishes strategic partnerships among the collaborating research institutions and companies to set the direction for the development of intelligent mobility in the Czech Republic. Together, we have accepted the challenge to seek for a balance between the need to move from place to place in a modern society and the negative impacts of mobility. We rely on experienced  teams with full knowledge of  the environment, a desire to collaborate and to share the risks involved in  setting trends in the area of managing mobility that will be suitable for the needs of the 21st century.

V3C - Visual Computing Competence Center

The project involves setting up the V3C Visual Computing Competence Center for processing visual information.  V3C is a grouping that brings together two distinguished research organisations and four industrial partners. The project is motivated by the long-term lack of linkage betwen research workplaces and industrial companies in the Czech Republic. The aim is to set up a long-term framework for more intensive application of the results of applied research in the field of visual computing in Czech industry, and to carry out further applied research of our own.

Radiation and Nuclear Safety Technologies Development Center: RANUS - TD

Project period: 2012 – 2019

This Centre of Competence links elite Czech export-oriented companies that have been collaborating with each other in the long term with internationally recognized centers of science and research. The aim is to develop, produce and export unique, hitherto unavailable detection materials and systems for detecting radiation for dealing with present-day issues in nuclear sources and their impacts on the environment. The outcomes of the project will have a broad range of applications in industry, health care and geology, and also in space research and fundamental research.

The Centre for Advanced Nuclear Technologies (CANUT) has set up a system for long-term collaboration in R&D, bringing together innovative research organisations and major industrial companies. CANUT was set up to build a strategic partnership of consortium members in the area of nuclear technologies. The participating organisations are internationally recognized research institutions and industrial companies with a long historical tradition. The technologies investigated at CANUT are considered as key, prestigious  research topics all over the world.
