How to get to Junior Hotel Prague
- From the airport
Public transport from the airport is inexpensive and very good. Buy a 7-day ticket (for 280 crowns) or a 14-day ticket (for 320 crowns) for the whole city transport network in the City Transport Office at the airport. This season ticket is excellent value. A single ticket costs 20 crowns and can be bought from the yellow ticket machine or from a shop.
Take bus No. 119, and frank the ticket when you get on to the bus. Go to the terminus (Dejvicka metro station). The bus journey takes 23 minutes. Walk down to the metro. Take the metro to Můstek (Wenceslas Square) (4th station). Get out from front of the train. Go up the escalator and turn left. You will come out on to Jindřišska Street. Follow the tram lines for 400 metres until you come to Senovážné náměstí 21 – Junior Hotel, on the right (just beyond Jindřišska vež – Henry’s Tower, which you will see clearly as you approach it). If you have a very heavy suitcase, go right instead of left at the top of the escalator and take any tram for one stop to Jindřišska. The tram stop is near the hotel.
If you really do not like the idea of public transport, take the CEDAZ hotel minibus service from outside the main concourse, or use the AAA telephone taxi (phone:14014) service, which has an office in the airport concourse. But do not use an airport taxi – you have been warned! - From the railway
stations and bus stations
If you arrive at Hlavní nadraží – Main Station, it is just a 5-minute walk down Jeruzalemska Street to the hotel.
All international bus and railway stations are next to metro stations. Get a 20-crown ticket (or, if possible, a 7-day or 14-day ticket), easily available at any metro station. Frank the ticket in the yellow machine as you enter the tram or the station.
Find your way to Hlavní nadraží – Main Station (red line) or Můstek (Wenceslas Square) (green line) metro station. Even better, get tram No. 3, 9, 14, or 24 to Jindřišska tram stop.
Changing money
Junior Hotel accepts payment in Euros or in Czech crowns. The rate per night is
10 Euros. You will be asked for a 15 EURO deposit for the hotel, which will be
returned when you check out. You will be asked to pay 900 Czech crowns or 35
Euros or for the European Dimension
Activities. The activities (excursions, a dinner, etc.) are a part of the course, and the payment for the European Dimension Activities is NOT optional – these activities have already been reserved and paid for on your behalf! We believe that these activities are very good value for you and form part of your study-in-Prague experience.
We recommend that you change money at a bank or in a bankomat, not in a hotel or at an exchange office, where you will receive a very poor rate of exchange. As you are probably arriving at the weekend, your best opportunity to change money may be at the airport.
The main CTU campus is next to Dejvicka
metro station (see a map).
The International Office is in the Rectorate building, Zikova 4. Use the
Zikova 2 entrance on the corner of Zikova Street and Solinova Streeet (see
map), or the Zikova 4 main entrance.
