Libraries, study rooms, terminals

Individual faculties provide study rooms and learning areas in their buildings.

The central library, which is located in the National Technical Library (NTL), serves primarly students and CTU academic employees. It ensures a wide range of learning materials and other information sources (books, magazines, textbooks, scripts, electronic sources) and other varieties of services.  Apart from Dejvicka departments (FD, FJFI, MUVS, FBMI) library services are provided by partial (local) libraries.  At some faculties are department libraries which house special funds. Detailed information is availabe at the website of Central library (http://knihovna.cvut.cz) or is listed on leflets and posters located in several places of school.

The National Technical Library in Prague (NTL) is located on Dejvice campus. Also there are very good libraries  at  other universities, colleges and research intitutions outside CTU.
University actively publishes inexpensive scrips in Czech and English, that are available in the bookstor on main campus Dejvice. There will be a bookstore at NTK.
In faculty buildings computer rooms are available, however most users no longer require computer centers. Places, which enable internet access for laptops, are more useful. All dormitory rooms have good access to the internet with a growing number of halls, corridors and other places with full connection. This provides access 24 hours/day – 7 days/week without the need for supervision.

Students, staff and managment agree, that in this computer age a leading Technical University needs a high level computer network.  This need gained the highest priority, especially since the changes of 1989. CTU is active in a wide range of organizations  from civil engineering research and engineering education.  CTU in Prague is also active in the LLP Erasmus program and with its connections concludes many bilateral agreements about student exchange.  There is  also an increasing number of bilateral student exchange agreements from outside the EU - USA, Canada, Russia, South America and Asia.
